Happy Birthday to LOGAN!!!

Logan has successfully completed his first year of life!! I knew it was going to go quick, but I didn't realize it would be here and over in the blink of an eye. That was, by far, the fastest year of my life!!! It was also the most action!!

It is hard to believe how far we have come in such a short period of time. It is so easy to forget all the little leaps and bounds, but thankfully, I have this blog to remind me. From the first smile, to the first bite of food (I guess you could call mushy cereal food), to the first time he started cruisin...it is all here.

His birthday party was so much fun. Logan has so many people (family & friends) that love and care for him. I didn't know how he would handle all the people since he has recently been going through stranger anxiety, but he did great!! He just loves watching all the kids playing. You can tell that he wants to join in so bad, but he isn't big enough to hang.

He loved when everyone sang Happy Birthday, but he wasn't so sure about the cake. He wouldn't touch it himself, but he loved the taste of it. Daddy decided to take matters into his own hands and put Logan's hands in the cake;) He loved the icing and made quite the mess.

Logan's Lightning McQueen cake!!

Happy Birthday to Logan!!

Mmmmmm!!!

Keep your balloons, cake, and presents....just give me the ROCKS!!

Cruisin for a bruisin...

Logan is officially cruisin, but I am hoping that we can avoid any and all 'bruisin'...I don't know, he's pretty sure of himself;) He has been pulling up to his knees for a while and more recently pulling up on shorter things, but Saturday he just pulled himself up to the couch like it was no big deal. Once he was up, he just moved around and one handed it like a pro. I know that he is going to be a year, but this 'growing up' stuff is all happening so fast.

He now wants to pull himself up on to anything and everything. My mom says that he even made a few steps to her, but I am just blocking that out of my memory;)

Sunday, was my FIRST ever Mother's Day and to make it even more memorable, it was also the day that Logan was baptized. He did really good and to my surprise, he wasn't the oldest one there. Shannon and Audrey were in town and that made it even better. My sister and I got to share our first mother's day with our own mother!! It was absolutely beautiful outside!!!

All my single (and non single) ladies....and one lil man...

Bookalicious!!!!

This Saturday Logan will be 11 months...only one more month before my sweet lil guy is 1 year old. He is pointing like CRAZY...some of his favorite things are lights, fans, and books. I am sure you are thinking, BOOKS, thats great, but he wants to eat them, not read them:)

Logan knew he wasn't supposed to be eating this book of coupons so he made it a game and laughed every time he started eating it.

This is the "grinding my teeth" smile...

Awww, snuggling with dadda on the couch...he looks like such a big boy.

Seriously mom???

My Wish...

This is the type of grin that has, "I'm up to no good" written all over it!

Let me just get my hands on that camera

As Logan quickly approaches ONE, I can't help but think about how quickly this year has gone by. It makes me sad to think that this will be an ongoing trend for each upcoming year, especially once he gets bigger and has more going on. I am not being negative, trust me, I enjoy every second that I have with him and look forward to all the memories we have yet to make. I know that it only gets better, but sometimes it seems like it couldn't possibly get better...how can you perfect perfection?

I love me some Rascal Flatts and there is an old song that I never really listened to. It wasn't one of my favorites and I never listened to the lyrics...until recently. It instantly made me think of my lil guy.

My Wish ~ Rascal Flatts

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you want to go
And if you’re faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you
And if one door opens to another door closed
I hope you keep on walkin’ ‘til you find the window
If it’s cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile
But more than anything, more than anything

My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
And while you’re out there gettin’ where you’re gettin’ to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too
Yeah, this is my wish

I hope you never look back but you never forget
All the ones who love you
And the place you left
I hope you always forgive and you never regret
And you help somebody every chance you get
Oh, you find God’s grace in every mistake
And always give more than you take
But more than anything, yeah more than anything

This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big

This may or may not have made me cry on the way to work, but I'm not saying...only me and the people on hwy 70 know the answer to that. Funny how you can be all sentimental one second and honking at someone the next:)

Hanging out on the deck

If we could get him to stop eating the football, I think there is some potential there;)

Busy Man

Logan's new favorite hangout is the gate at the stairs. When Logan chases Harry, Harry knows that his only safe haven from tail pulling is behind the gate. After a few times of fleeing for his life, Logan caught on to where Harry was going and now grabs the rails and shakes them and dances. It is not really my favorite place for him to be, but what can you do...besides make sure the gate is tightly secured.

Here kitty kitty kitty:)

Shannon, Matt, and Audrey were all in the Lou for Easter. It was sooo much fun. Logan and Audrey were so much more interactive compared to how they were at our February trip. What a difference a month and a half makes. It is just going to get better and better.

We took them for a wagon ride through the neighborhood, but they pretty much just wanted what the other one had the whole time. Still, it was fun. Wish we could do it more often.

Easter is no different than any other holiday in the fact that we have 4 houses to go to. We started at the first house at 11:30 and made our stops about 2 hours at a time not including drive time. We got home right at 9 and Logan was BEAT!! He didn't wake up during the transfer out of the carseat and onto our bed. He had rug burn on his shins and tops of his feet from all the crawling. It was the first holiday where he could get around and not be passed around from person to person the whole time. I think he liked it much more that way:)

I like to move it, move it...

Quite literally, Logan is a mover and a shaker. He loves to get down with the get down and shake his booty and more recently, he is crawling. He started on Thursday the 25th of March, to be exact. I didn't think the day would come. He had been able to go backwards, but it was like it clicked and he just figured it out. He is still not the fastest thing on four limbs, but he can definitely get to what he wants, especially all of the things that he is not supposed to have.

Who wants toys when you can play with power cords. He LOVES cords, which is pretty scary, especially when they are plugged in. We take them away and move him by his toys and he just laughs and trucks right back to the cords. He will do it over and over again and then he cries when he realizes that he really can't play with them.

It is just the beginning, I am aware of it. It is kind of nice that you get a little window to adjust before they master the art of crawling. It still takes him a while to get from point A to B, but soon enough, I will be running after him.

One of the first ever crawls. He has already gotten quicker in just a few days...uh-oh:)

Starting to play with some of the toys he didn't understand before.

He looks sad...we probably just moved him away from the power cords:)
