OOoohhh, We're halfway there....

Oh ohh, livin on a prayer:) We are indeed halfway there...20 weeks today!!! It is crazy to think how quickly time has gone by. I know people say don't rush through your pregnancy, enjoy everyday, but I am sorry, I am ready to meet this little man:) We go back to the doctor Tues and we go to the Perinatal center the same day which means we will get to see our little guy!! I am sure he has grown a lot in the last 4 weeks....actually, I know he has grown b/c my belly sure has!!! I keep thinking to myself, "I am really bloated today", but I am slowly realizing that it is not bloat, but baby!!! It is just weird how it can change so much in such a short time.

"He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery)."

Let the decorating begin!!!

It may seem early to some, but to me it seems like I waited too long to decorate this nursery!! We have cleared all of the furniture out of the future nursery and yesterday we ordered our furniture! The bad thing is that it takes 2-3 months...that seems like forever. I guess that will give us time to paint. I am the most indecisive paint color chooser in the world. You look at that tiny little sample and it looks great until you get 1/2 a wall painted and then I am making these weird faces and poor Dave just knows that I hate it!! So, three coats later we usually have our winner:) I can not believe that we are going to have a nursery in our home...it is even harder to imagine this tiny little baby in there crying...I am sure I will get that reality check soon enough;)

Hungry Bungry

As of yesterday I hit the 19 weeks mark...only a week away from being halfway through:) If there is something I have noticed other than the tiny little baby kicks it is my insatiable hunger!! I feel like a caveman...me need food!! I am most definitely growing...you can see my baby pooch in the morning, but in the evening it is huge!!! I have noticed myself rubbing it like a little Buddha belly:)

Baby @ 19 weeks....not sure if ours is a contortionist???

Up all night, sleep all day...

That is Mr. Bun's schedule. I eagerly await each one of his kicks all day long and nadda, zilch. Then at 3:30 am after using the restroom he was kicking away like crazy. Either my empty bladder gave him more room to move around or else he was playing the latest version of Dance, Dance Revolution:):)

What a feeling!!!

Very exciting weekend. Other than sleeping and eating...I felt our lil guy in there!!! I first felt him Fri, but I didn't think anything of it, then I felt it a few times Sat, but I was still skeptical. The coup de grace was last night when Dave and I were laying on the couch (shocker right) and he had his hand on my belly. All of the sudden there were these four boomps all in a row...I was used to feeling one here and there so I was like OMGing with excitement. I asked Dave if he felt it and he said no, but it felt so strong, I would have guessed that it was visible. Then I couldn't help but think of the part in Spaceballs when the alien comes out of the guy in the restaurants belly and it looks all mean and then it starts singing, "hello my baby, hello my honey"....hilarious!!

Keep on kicking Mr Bun!!!

18 WEEKS....

Where in the world are these weeks going??? 18 weeks into this with only 22 weeks to go...assuming I make it all 40 weeks. I still haven't felt the baby move which is a little disappointing even though I read that 18-22 is pretty average. Not to mention that the anterior placenta can muffle the kicks...boo.

When I lay on my back I can definitely feel my uterus, according to the books my uterus is now the size of a cantaloupe or maybe a little bigger....that seems huge!!! It is so exciting. Women's bodies are truly amazing and I can not describe how lucky I feel to have the opportunity to experience this miracle.

Lyrical

I have finally started walking again, nothing crazy, just 30 minutes a night a few nights a week. It sure feels good to move my ass and remind my muscles that they do have a purpose:) So, last night I had my ipod on shuffle and was slowing down my pace when a song came on that caught my attention. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit I have this song in my ipod, but it was Celine Dion "A New Day"...for what it is worth it is the "better" version not the fast one they play on KEZK:):) I have heard this song a million times but never really paid much attention to the lyrics and what they really meant. I can not help but feel like this song completely summarizes our infertility journey...it made me a little teary!!

I was waiting for so long
For a miracle to come
Everyone told me to be strong
Hold on and don't shed a tear

Through the darkness and good times
I knew I'd make it through
And the world thought I had it all
But I was waiting for you

When it was dark now there's light
Where there was pain now there's joy
Where there was weakness I found my strength
All in the eyes of a boy

I mean c'mon people....she doesn't have a Vegas show for nothing:):)

Movin on up....

17 weeks today. I can not wait until I hit 20 and I will be 1/2 way!!! Only 3 weeks away. So, I know I am crazy and should probably be put in a mental ward, but I can't stop worrying about the gender of our baby. I know that they are saying boy and I saw the little thingamajigger, but I keep hearing these stories of women who thought one way and then it was WRONG!!! AHHHH!!! If that were true our little girl would have to be a cross dresser:) I am sure that they are right, I mean they are trained, educated, experienced, and knowledgeable...right??? Aye carumba...I am coming to the conclusion that I just like to worry, I worry about the dumbest things....I have not an ounce of trust in medical professionals. Somebody slap me!!!

Here is what Mr Bun looks like this week, but cuter;)

2009

Out with the old and in with the new. 2009 is going to be one of the best years ever!! Celebrated with some sparkling grape juice and proved that I can hang with all you non pregnant people:) I am looking forward to this new year, I can't really say that I have a resolution, but there will be many changes this year and I welcome them all!!! Happy New Year!! I was 16 weeks yesterday....these weeks are flying by. Only 4 more days until we know what we are having...my intuition for a girl has really started kicking in over the last few days so we will see:)

How the baby is growing:
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, the baby will double it's weight and add inches to it's length. Right now, it is about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces.
