Break on through....

Logan has his first tooth!! I could feel a little something the Wednesday before Christmas and each day it became more and more obvious. It is his left bottom tooth and it looks like the one next to it might be coming in soon too. I hope I don't jinx myself by saying this, but he has been a tough little guy through all of it. I was expecting the worst...I guess that could all change with tooth #2, we will see.

He is really fascinated by all of the snow we have been getting. He loves to look out the window at it, he also loves to put his face to the cold glass and try to lick it:)

He has been loving all of his new Christmas goodies. He loves the table where you have to stand to play with everything. He is doing really good on his legs, but he can't stand by himself for a long time. If he had his choice he would stand all day, but he gets a little too heavy for mommy to hold up after a while.

One of his favorite new toys

Shake what your momma gave ya...

Move Over Beethoven

Dave and I have never been the best at waiting until Christmas morning to do our present exchange and I guess this is proving true when it comes to Logan as well. We couldn't resist giving him at least one present before it was even Christmas Eve. We decided to give him a little piano and I think we need to enroll him in lessons once he gets big enough:)

He didn't really understand the whole "present" thing. He was mainly interested in eating the wrapping paper:) I am a little nervous about the upcoming work week because Logan has been up past 11 the last three nights. He never got tired or crabby, instead, he was laughing and ready to keep the party going.

Opening his very 1st wrapped Christmas present!!!

Driving Miss Daisy...

Naturally, two days after his 6 month pictures, Logan starting sitting straight up by himself. Would have been nice for his pics, but I forgive him:) His favorite toy ever is his steering wheel thing-a-majig. He loves when the lights flash and it sings to him. He is getting pretty good at the whole driving thing, I think we might need to start hiding our keys from him. I am a little concerned that he might have picked up a bit of road rage behavior from me...I better start driving at 10 & 2.

On the road again...WARNING...early signs of road rage!!!

We are almost done with all the stage 1 fruits. He still has to eat the prunes, and even though I think they sound disgusting, I am sure he will love them. When we started the veggies he loved all of them except for the green beans, but now that he has tasted the sweetness of fruit, he isn't too fond of the veggies. For that reason, I always make sure to give him a veggie with his fruit, not sure if that will help, but I am trying. Green beans are still the most hated, he gags on them:)

I bought some of the stage 2 foods and they look quite appealing. There is a mixed berry and banana one that I would like to mix in the blender and make a smoothie out of...that would be kinda weird though (no one has to know).

1/2 a year!!

Logan will be 6 months on the 8th of this month and I have no idea how we got here so soon. I realize that it gets better and better, but I must admit I am freaking out because I can't imagine how it could possibly get better...I am missing this age already!!! Some days when he is crabby and wants me to hold him while I am trying to get things done I get a little frustrated. I have to remind myself to enjoy the opportunity to hold him now because soon enough he will squirm out of my arms when I want to hold him most!! He is just such a sweet little guy and I love nothing more than smothering him in kisses!!!

We took him to get his 6 month pictures and he was very sleepy. We didn't get many big smile shots, but we did get some cute ones.

Tomorrow is Dave's work party where he will have his first encounter with Santa Claus...I am very excited to see how this goes!! He is not really old enough to get freaked out and cry, well, we will see:)

Now that the weather is getting cold I am going to have to get used to bundling him up, I have been spoiled with all the nice mild weather. He doesn't seem to mind hats, he actually laughs when you put them on. Last weekend we went to look for a tree and he was all bundled up (hat, jacket, and even mittens) and I carried him around in the Baby Bjorn. That ended up being quite the workout and my legs were sore for like 3 days. I think I need to start doing squats while holding him:)

Here are some of his 6 month pics...

Step into my office...

My tootsies are my bff's!!!

Sittin up like a BIG BOY!!

Here are some of the outtakes that didn't make the cut...

NO MORE PICTURES...sooo sad:(

Maybe if I act like I am sleeping this lady with stop taking pictures??

Bring on the food

Since Logan has been snotty for over a week, the doctor wanted to see him to make sure he didn't have an ear infection. His ears looked great and the doctor said he might just have a sinus infection, but that everything else looked perfect. With his clothes on he was at 20 lbs 11 oz, which explains why I have to switch arms every few minutes when I am holding him:)

The doctor also said that it would be OK to let him try some of the Thanksgiving favorites such as mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes and maybe even a little taste of pumpkin pie:)

I can't wait to have 4 whole days with him.

I am signing him up for the infant swim lessons. They do not start until January, but I am really excited to get him the water and get him ready for the summer.

Much love for my momma

Fist bumps!!

Thankful for so much!

It has been too long!! We have been so busy and Logan has been making sure it stays that way. I have no idea where the evenings go anymore. Instead of doing laundry, dishes, working out, etc., I spend all of my time with Logan (and Dave).

He has been sleeping through the night for quite some time now and that is just one of the many things I am thankful for:)

He has made it through all of his veggies and is now enjoying fruits. He opens his mouth for more before I can even get another spoonful made. He has also been talking a lot more lately and getting better at his "m" and "b" consonant sounds.

I seriously can not believe we are nearing the 6 month (1/2 a year) mark. I am really looking forward to sharing the holidays with him. I am hoping that he doesn't get too crabby as we travel the state of Missouri visiting family, ok, so maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but not much:)

He has been fighting congestion which wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to suck his boogies out. He HATES that sucky thing with a passion. The other night I was trying to get these stubborn snot streams out and he was crying so hard that he had tears, which in turn gave me tears:( I felt like a meanie, but it was for his own good. (whoa, I think that was a mom statement).

What a feeling...when were talking to the ceiling...

Doing his best Elvis impression...grandma would be so proud:)

Fingers a la mode...his favorite snack.

Getting aquainted with his new bouncy.

5 months:)

Today, Logan is 5 months old, I just can't believe how fast the time is going. Every day with him is even better than the one before. His new favorite thing to do is to make these high pitched sounds. Sometimes, it sounds like his is singing us a little song:)

Saturday was his first trip to the zoo and the first time mommy had a freak out. I put him in his stroller so I could make him a bottle and he slipped out of his stroller. I must have seen him sliding down out of the corner of my eye because I was able to get him before he hit the floor...that sounds so horrible!!! I grabbed him, but I couldn't tell if his head hit and I thought he was gonna start screaming, but as soon as I picked him up he was like, whatever. He was just looking around for his bottle and didn't shed a tear. I , however, starting crying my eyes out. I felt like a bad mother and that split second of fear was the worst:(

Thankfully, he is fine and doesn't even know what happened...maybe he just thinks he went down a slide:)

Here is a sample of his sweet singing voice...

1st Halloween!!

Logan had his first Halloween and I am very dissapointed in the lack of candy he collected for mommy:) Since Halloween landed on a Saturday we spent much of the day running errands and therefore ended up with a crabapple come the night. Poor guy just wanted a little sleep. I dressed him up, but I made sure we were both happy. Momma got to see her little man in a costume, but it was more like a sleeper which probably made him happy.

Them bones, them bones...

Thumb, meet mouth

Logan has really taken a liking to sucking his thumb. Most of the time he gnaws on it, but lately he has been getting really good at sucking it...I am not worrying about it though. I read lots of bad things about it, but the good things are there too. He is learning to self-soothe himself, that is what I am going to keep telling myself:)

Keep Rollin Rollin...

Logan has been rolling over onto his belly for about a week now, however, he can never get his arm out from underneath him so it has not been a true "rollover". Last night after downing 6 oz of formula with a little bit of rice cereal, I thought he would pass out....wrong!!! As soon as I set him down he rolled right over. I didn't think anything of it until he started squirming to get that arm loose. All of the sudden he got the arm positioned right and popped his head right up. I couldn't believe it!! After that rollover he rolled over two more times. I was able to get those ones on camera:)

October 21 ~ Logan's first night of rollovers:) ~Ooops...ignore daddy sleeping on couch~

Right after his first rollover ever....I think he was as surprised as I was.

Last weekend we went to visit Shannon, Audrey, and Matt up in Chicago and reintroduce the kids. They are still not too sure about what is going on, but it was cute to see them together. I can already tell that they are going to be besties:)

What up cuz?

The First Supper...

We have begun the solids...it is not as exciting as I had imagined, well, at least not for me:) Logan did really well, I was curious to see how he handled solid food. We fed him half a bottle and then planned on feeding him solids and finishing the other half of the bottle. However, half way through the solids Logan was getting pissed because he wanted the rest of the bottle. I guess you get instant gratification with a bottle as opposed to all the work he was having to do with the cereal.

At one point he sees the camera and he looks as if he shoos it away...then the Italian comes out and he starts yelling with his hands:) What's a matter you?!?!?

Is there Miracle Grow in the formula???

Logan went for his 4 month appointment on Tues and he is growing like a weed...a very large weed. He was 28 inches long and 18lbs 3.5oz. That puts him in the 100% percentile for length and 95% percentile for weight. Last time his head was normal at 64%, but it made quite a jump to the 86% percentile. He is just big and oh so kissable. He is sooo ticklish it is hysterical. When you get the right spot he is like the Pillsbury dough boy:) Hopefully, when he is mobile he will want to move around and not be a couch potato. I realize that right now he doesn't really have a choice in the matter, but he rolls on his side just to watch TV.

Watching "That 70's show"...

Over the weekend Logan got to meet his twin second cousins. It was so cute, the first thing he did when we stuck him in the middle of them was grab both of their hands, it was hilarious. The twins are a day older than his cousin Audrey so I can't wait to see how Audrey and him interact when we go up to Chicago this weekend.

Logan with his cousins Preston and Kaylynn

I was getting a little worried that whenever we put him on tummy time he would turn his head and gnaw on his hand. Well, on Saturday when I put him on his tummy he lifted his head right up.

This is too much work...I'd rather be watching TV:)

Logan still isn't too crazy about his swing...that is unless daddy is pushing him in it. Every time the swing would come back to Dave, Logan would crack up laughing.

Trying with all his might to have a conversation with me.

His 4 month pic...this is totally a face that Dave makes!!!

Logan has a new fascination with his feet, especially his left one. He loves to grab on to them. He can not quite get them to his mouth yet, but when he can he will snacking on them night and day:) The band-aid on his leg is from his 4 month shot.

Room for complaints...

Tomorrow Logan will be 4 months old and I think he is already developing a little tude. There is a clear difference between when he is crying (hungry, sleepy) and when he is just complaining...the complaining usually turns into crying if his demands are not met.

Logan lets momma know he is done!!!

Four months is about when you can start solids. Nothing too exciting at first, just some rice cereal and oatmeal, but a definite step forward. I am so anxious to see what he thinks of something other than formula. His 4 month appointment is not until Monday so we will see if the Dr thinks that he is in fact ready for solids. Just in case, we already got the highchair together and let Logan test it out...

Looks like he is ready and loving his new highchair

Where's the food???

Can I get a Ma Ma

So maybe Logan didn't know what he was saying, but we got a definite "ma-ma" out of him yesterday. He was getting a little fussy when all of the sudden it was plain as day, Dave and I both looked at each other like, "did you hear that?". I realize that he has no idea I am mama, but it was just cool to hear something other than goo. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of many dada's, baba's, and my personal favorite, mama's:)

With Halloween fast approaching I have decided that we are not going to subject him to a costume this year. I bought him a cute little dalmatian one, but he just looked so uncomfortable in it. He has a cute little Halloween outfit that will be just fine, however, I may regret this later:)

He made such a cute lil puppy dog!!

Not quite sure what this face is???

Roly Poly...

Logan is rolling onto his side. This might seem a little half assed for me to get excited about, but I know that he is moving towards a full roll someday...so for now, I will settle for a half roll:):) When I got home I was surprised to see that he did this quite a few times and I even managed to catch one time on video!

Video is kinda long...he rolls around 1:40:)

I kinda like it on my side

Studly in outfit from grandma!!

Ready for my close up

Why do you people insist on putting me in this thing???

I got my eye on you sun!!!

Mr. Curious

This morning Logan's babysitter text me a picture of Logan. I love getting to see him and what he is doing in the day, but even more exciting is the fact that he is rolling over on his side to watch Will. Will is only a few months older than Logan so I am sure that now that Logan is more aware of his surroundings he will be VERY interested in Will and what he is doing.

Rolling on his side to get a better look at what is going on!

We took Logan to Applebee's on Friday and the last time we went out for dinner and Logan woke up we had to hold him like a baby, well, this time it was funny to see him sitting up like a big boy at the table. He was fascinated by all the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. He was staring at the waiters and waitresses as they rushed around.

Hmmmm, he is not quite sure about something:)

I am wondering if he is going to start teething soon because, as you can see in the pictures, he constantly has his fingers in his mouth.

I just can't believe how quickly he is changing every day. He is babbling all the time and loves to watch the TV. I know some people say this is bad to let him do, but he always seems to find the TV when it is on. I think it is good for him to watch the bright colors and follow the different shapes on the screen. Some of his faves are The Backyardigans and Wow Wow Wubzy...I am growing quite fond of them too:)
