Three Men & Me

We had our family showers this weekend and Mr Bun has lots of family that already care so much about him. Dave and I are so overwhelmed by the generosity and love from all of our family and friends. Seeing all the baby stuff in our house is so exciting. To know that we will be filling it all with our lil man is the best feeling ever...I just can't wait to meet him. Well, I have to say that I will miss being pregnant, it is the most amazing experience ever!! There is such a strong bond between the two of us already, I can't even imagine how much stronger it will get the instant I hold him.

Surprisingly, I did not cry while opening presents. There were a few times here and there when I teared up, but I guess there was too much happiness and excitement for me to even have time to get emotional. All smiles!!

So, I said I would post a picture and here it is...32 weeks to the day:) Can't believe that my belly has 8 more weeks of growing...it seems impossible.



I have heard women talk about how your belly gets so heavy and I never really understood until now. By the end of the day, especially after dinner, my belly feels like a ton of bricks. Not to mention the fact that I have a very short torso means that I am running out of room. Breathing and eating can be a challenge. Those that know me KNOW that I don't run out of room in my belly when it comes to food, but lately I get so uncomfortable. I am trying to train myself on more frequent small meal/snacks, but I am so used to actual meals.

As of today I have 7 weeks and 6 days until 40 weeks:):)

8 weeks to full term!!! While I am anxious to meet him, I want him to stay put until he is good and ready to come out into this crazy world!! I had an appointment yesterday and his estimated weight is 4 lbs 4 oz. The Dr guessed that if he kept growing at the same rate he would be around 7 lbs 10 oz at 40 weeks. That sounds much better than his daddy's close to 10 lb birth weight!!! The ultrasound tech guessed that he would be right around 8 lbs so we will see how close they are.

During the ultrasound Mr Bun was more interested in sleeping than showing us that adorable little profile of his. The tech said, "We are not getting many good face shots, but we are getting a lot of penis shots". He was flashing us left and right. We got to see some of his hair floating around in the amniotic fluid which was pretty cool. Maybe I was right about all the hair giving me heartburn???

The non-stress test was easy. At first I was worried that he was not going to cooperate and that his movements would be limited, but after about 10 minutes he was kicking and twisting all over the place.

I will get some pics on here soon...maybe even one of me!!! Dave and I have been really bad about the belly pics, I am kind of bummed about it, but we just keep forgetting!!

Mr Bun has found a new favorite hangout....my ribs!!! It doesn't exactly hurt "yet", but it is oddly uncomfortable. I can tell that he is getting crammed in there and he still has 9 weeks of growing to do. While 9 weeks sounds like a lot of growing time, it doesn't sound like very long when I think that is all I have left if I go to 40 weeks. I am excited and nervous and anxious.

I have started tuning into more baby shows on Discovery Health/TLC. I am all about delivery shows where women are going through the whole labor process. There is nothing like that moment when they hand over the newborn to his/her momma for the first time...gets me every time!!

Labor has been on my mind more and more lately. Yes, I am still planning on a natural birth. I have lots to read up on. I feel like knowledge can give you strength and power...um, I am hoping:)

31 weeks tomorrow!!!

"This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up."

The kicks are not that bad, the constant urge to pee, now that keeps me up all night:)

29 weeks today and this heartburn is getting volcanic. It doesn't matter what I eat, it always seems to show up. If the myth about heartburn meaning the baby will have a lot of hair is true then Mr Bun might come out with a full blown afro:)

Only 11 weeks until full term, that is just insane. My weekends are completely booked until Memorial Day weekend!! After the baby is born and all of the weddings and holidays are over with I will go back to being a nerd with an open calendar....it might be nice:)

New symptom of pregnancy....eye twitching, but only in the right eye. I am not sure if this is common in pregnancy or if I just need some rest, but it is driving me crazy!! Not to mention I feel like ol' crazy eyes. I am sure that people can't see it, but I feel like it looks like I have a nervous tick or something?? I guess a measly little eye twitch should be the least of my problems.

28 weeks today!! Didn't I just post 27??? We got all of our baby furniture in and tonight we are going to get it all set up. The baby room is coming together nicely and though I am a bit demanding, I feel like I have been pretty easy on Dave. My personal opinion is that this baby room has been quite easy, however, I have mainly been supervising:)

I have noticed that every time I go to the bathroom Mr Bun kicks me the whole time. It made me wonder if the draining of my bladder repositions him?? He is probably all snuggly and then all of the sudden his home starts deflating??? I don't know, just an odd observation. I go to the Dr Saturday, but it will be a quick routine one, nothing exciting. I am excited that my monthly weigh in will take place in the morning instead of the evening after meals and snacks. That is sure to save me at least a lb:):)

BTW, I am in my third trimester...kind of a big deal!!!

The Dr appt yesterday confirmed that my belly's recent growth spurt was most likely caused by Mr Bun's most recent growth spurt. 4 weeks ago he weighed in at 1 lb 8 oz and as of yesterday he was at 2 lbs 14 oz!!! Last appt he was in the 50th percentile and this week he was in the 64th percentile. I am sure there are months of more and less growth. He was moving and kicking and acting a fool. You could see his little body jerking around and then I realized he had the hiccups...I could feel them, it was so neat (for me at least). They say that babies in the womb are not annoyed by hiccups like we are, but I wonder, how do they know that???

When the Dr came in he did not even do another u/s, he said that everything was looking great and to "keep up the good work". If by "good work" he means feeding this lil man adequate meals...I can easily continue that.

I have noticed that I have been getting a little more tired lately. My heartburn has also been getting a little stronger. A friend of mine recently made a really great point. She stated that the end of pregnancy has to get uncomfortable and unbearable or else we would never want our babies to leave the comfort of our wombs. It is easier to take on the separation after it has been taking its toll on your body in such a harsh way. I am sure the aches and pains of pregnancy are right around the corner for me, especially if he keeps growing so much!!!

I will be 28 weeks tomorrow which means that if I go 40 weeks I only have 12 left!!! So exciting!!
